TECH: The 2tTune player does not seem to work properly. What can I check myself?

  1. First time log in? The first time you log in on any of your devices, several (security) checks will run in the background. Therefore it might take up to 30 seconds (after clicking the play button) before music starts playing. The next time you log in on the same device, the player will connect faster.
  2. Not sure if your internet browser is supporting the 2tTune player? Check the browser version, go to a menu option in your browser like "about [browser]". Still not sure? You can always update your browser software. Most modern internet browsers support the 2tTune player
  3. You are not hearing any sound. Did you test the volume settings on your device? Can you play other online media files without audio issues? Open, for example, a YouTube music video in the same internet browser to test the audio.
  4. Does your internet browser block scripts (small notification icon in the address bar of the browser)? If so, change the settings of your browser and allow scripts for the 2tTune service.
  5. The music service may be blocked by your firewall. Please make sure that port "9200 TCP outbound" is open.
  6. It worked for a while but now it just doesn't play / function anymore? Clean your browser history, close your browser session and open a new one. Sometimes the magic happens.
  7. Giving up? No worries, we are here to help you. In case the 2tTune player still does not function properly, please contact us.

LEGAL: What is the difference between Buma/Stemra and Sena?

Buma/Stemra is an organization that collects fees in the interests of music publishers, lyricists and composers. Sena also collects fees, but then in the interests of performing artists and record companies.

LEGAL: How do you terminate your Buma/Stemra and Sena?

You can terminate your current licenses by sending an e-mail to service@mijnlicentie.nl. Don't forget to cite your licensing numbers and contact details. We advise you to also include a copy of your 2tTune certificate, which you will receive after your subscription. Please mention in your explanation that you only want to make use of the rights-inclusive repertoire of Tribe of Noise.

LEGAL: Can I also switch on my own radio?

No, not during trading hours. In case you play other music besides the rights-included music supplied by 2tTune, you may have to pay a compensation fee to Buma/Stemra and Sena. In some cases, beneficial exceptions apply for private parties.

LEGAL: What is the difference between 2tTune and Deezer, Spotify, iTunes?

2tTune is a music service designed specifically for business use. Deezer, Spotify, iTunes and similar consumer oriented music services do not allow commercial use.

LEGAL: Can I broadcast both 2tTune and national radio in my business?

Yes. As long as the music is played in separate (closed) areas. For example a car dealer plays 2tTune in the showroom while the car mechanics are listening to a national radio station in the workshop. The Buma/Stemra and Sena licenses are based on the workshop area (square meters) only, resulting in much lower annual fees.
